The Paddock is the redevelopment of the historic Paddock hotel into a mixed-use multifamily and commercial anchor to the historic Beatrice downtown. The building had previously been converted into a senior living facility when it closed down in 2021. Hoppe Development was approached about the conversion of the facility into workforce housing.

The community of Beatrice worked with the development team on a concept to activate the first floor commercial space, and in 2024, NGAGE, the economic development arm of Gage County, secured a USDA grant for a rural incubator space that would contribute to the buildout and preservation of the main commercial floor. The residential units will be created utilizing Rural Workforce Housing funding. The entire project is additionally supported by historic tax credits.
