The Orchard Groundbreaking
Hoppe Development is proud to break ground on its latest affordable housing project in east Grand Island. Working alongside the Grand Island Economic Development Corporation, the company is constructing three buildings containing five living units each. Eight of these units will be reserved for residents below 120% of the area median income for the next decade.
This project represents an important partnership with multiple funding agencies, including a landmark $750,000 contribution from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund—the first such award for Grand Island. Hoppe appreciates Mayor Roger Steele's support and the city's proactive zoning changes that have made this development possible. The construction team has already completed several similar units on a nearby street, and is excited to continue addressing Grand Island's housing needs with this significant new development.
